A tale of Tatler's past

2nd Jun 2015

One of our customers has very kindly donated to us a collection of leaflets displaying what the Birmingham Film Society was screening here at The Electric Cinema in 1951 and 1952 when it was known as the Tatler Theatre.

Robert Weiner posted us a selection of programmes which show the various foreign films and shorts which were screening at the Tatler in the early 50s, including the likes of Jean Delannoy's La Symphonie Pastoral, the Carole Lombard feature Nothing Sacred and the Shakespeare adaptation Les Amants de Verone.

You can take a look at the full selection of leaflets on our Facebook page by clicking here, where we've put a full album of photos which not only show was what was screening at the Tatler, but also The Crescent Theatre as part of the Birmingham Film Society's then seventeenth season.
