'As far back as I could remember, I always wanted to be a gangster.' So begins Scorsese’s modern classic, the story of Henry Hill (Ray Liotta), who in the mid 1950s was taken under the wing of local New York Italian-American mobster Paul “Paulie” Cicero (Paul Sorvino) and his associates.

Packed with one-liners that have become legend for aficionados, audiences who’ve never seen the film before or on the big screen will thrill to its brilliant performances, visual innovation, perfect period design and iconic soundtrack. And it's highly appropriate that this screening is in association with Brooklyn lager, the New York State microbrewery that's spread across the globe.

The Cans Film Festival is a celebration of both classic cinema and great boutique canned beer, running throughout the summer at The Electric Cinema, where each screening has been inspired by an exciting canned beer product. The beer will be available at our bar and chilled ready to sip throughout the film. Where possible, the brewmaster themselves will be onsite to introduce the film and share some secrets of the canned beer trade. So choose your tipple and join us this summer for some classic canned cinema!

The screening on Thursday 10th August will be preceded by an introduction from the brewery, with audience members also getting a taste of Brooklyn Scorcher.
