Journalist Raoul Duke (Johnny Depp) heads to Las Vegas to cover a motorcycle race bringing along his Samoan lawyer, Dr. Gonzo (Benicio Del Toro) in this furious adaptation of the book by Hunter S. Thompson. It is 1971, and Duke and Gonzo are on their way to Sin City with a frightened hitchhiker (a nearly unrecognizable Tobey Maguire) and a trunkful of drugs, which they ingest nonstop. Depp is terrific as Duke, Thompson's alter ego, and Del Toro is a riot as the crazy lawyer, whilst director Terry Gilliam, a master of complex, bizarre visual imagery, has a field day interpreting the drug-hazed world in which Duke and Gonzo reside.

With its Ralph Steadman inspired can design, the Flying Dog Brewery's Easy IPA fits neatly alongside Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas, featuring aromas of grapefruit and subtle spice melded into lemon and pine hop notes balanced with crisp cracker malt.

The Cans Film Festival is a celebration of both classic cinema and great boutique canned beer, running throughout the summer at The Electric Cinema, where each screening has been inspired by an exciting canned beer product. The beer will be available at our bar and chilled ready to sip throughout the film. Where possible, the brewmaster themselves will be onsite to introduce the film and share some secrets of the canned beer trade. So choose your tipple and join us this summer for some classic canned cinema!
