Flatpack 2018: Madame Hyde + Q&A

Saturday 21st April

6.15pm

Screen 1

Director: Serge Bozon

Starring: Isabelle Huppert

Rating: 15

France / Belgium 2017, 95mins

Isabelle Huppert is on top form in this loose adaptation of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Playing the meek Madame Géquil, a high school science teacher who lacks authority over her class, she gets hit by lightning during one of her experiements. Her passive persona then subsides as a different side to her character comes to the fore.

With some brilliantly funny moments including one of the best eulogies you’ll ever see, and plenty of scene-stealing by Romain Duris as the idiosyncratic headmaster, Madame Hyde is a total joy, and particularly recommended viewing for any teachers out there. We’re delighted director Serge Bozon will be answering questions after the screening.

Please note: seats for all Flatpack Festival screenings operate on a first come, first served basis, including the sofas. Waiter service is also unavailable.
