Spielberg’s epic war drama Saving Private Ryan back on the big screen in June 2019, marking 75 years since World War Two’s ‘D-Day’ Normandy landings - and 21 years since the film was released.

Steven Spielberg directed this powerful, realistic re-creation of WWII's D-day invasion and the immediate aftermath. Following the Normandy Landings, a group of U.S. soldiers go behind enemy lines to retrieve a paratrooper whose brothers have been killed in action. Famed for it's visceral sequences of combat, this deserves to be seen on the big screen.

Did you know? The Omaha Beach scene cost $11 million to shoot, and involved up to 1,000 extras, some of whom were members of the Irish Army Reserve. Of those extras, twenty to thirty of them were amputees, issued with prosthetic limbs, to simulate soldiers having their limbs blown off.
